PHE Canada Dr. Andy Anderson Young Professional Award
PHE Canada's Dr. Andy Anderson Young Professional Award is a yearly award presented to one professional per provincial association that best epitomizes exemplary work on behalf of the physical and health education profession. Selection of the award recipient is made by the provincial association. All recipients will receive an engraved plaque with the Joy of Effort medallion. Award presentations usually take place during provincial conferences.
Eligibility - The candidate must be a member of PHE Canada or a Liaison Group, and be 35 years of age or less, although some exceptions can be made for individuals who started late-entry careers.
Background - At the January 2008 Board of Directors meeting, a motion was passed to rename the PHE Canada Your Professional Award the Dr. Andy Anderson Young Professional Award.
Andy was an incredible leader and had an enormous impact on the field of health and physical education. Throughout his career, he nurtured many leaders who continue to serve as champions and carry on his legacy in our professionals today. The Dr. Andy Anderson Young Professional Award will help to further recognize his significant contribution to the field. Dallas Thiessen 2018

PHE Canada National Award for Teaching Excellence in Physical Education
The PHE Canada National Award for Teaching Excellence in Physical Education presented by Wintergreen honors Canadian teachers who provide outstanding teaching performance at the elementary, middle or secondary levels, who have an exceptional ability to motivate students to participate in a lifetime of physical activity, and who further Physical Education in Canada.
